"Simeon Sochain - This is one beautiful stallion. Masculine in every sense of the word but not at all coarse. Excellent skin and hair quality. Great bone and lovely joints. A huge moving horse who passes it on to his progeny. Sochain has so much expression. He is gentle and easy to handle but happy to show off when asked. Great height and breadth (I believe he is 15.2hh). Incredible presence. There is no type lost in his size. He is magnificent. A horse that had a great impression on me,
so much so that I bought a son, Chaswyck Caliph. Sochain is indeed as kind as he looks. He has these beautiful deep dark eyes with little creases above them that make him look like he's thinking about something very dear to him. He is a dear soul. Ron and Lorraine manage all of their horses on their own so each one has to have a good manageable temperament. They had a lovely look-alike son at the stud last time I was there. He was 2 or 3 years old and at first glance I thought he was Sochain himself. The temperament on this colt was the same."

Congratulations on importing such a truly classic Arabian stallion-- I was impressed with him in Australia and he is every bit as pretty as I remembered!

"It was a pleasure to judge the competitive The Top of the Range Downs Club Class "A" Show in Toowoomba, Australia . Sochain was just a youngster, but I remember him as a handsome horse with alot of presence. Wayne handled him beautifully. I am happy to see that my selection for champion many years ago proved to be a genuinely great choice !

We have had Simeon Sochain since he was 6 months old. I remember the first time we laid eyes on him, it was winter and he looked scuffy and gangly, but when Glenn let him loose, his movement just blew us away! He was our first ever straight Egyptian and I can still hear Glenn saying, “they are very slow to mature, Don’t look at him until he is 7 years old!!” I thought Wow! What a long time, but I must say that we have been blessed and fortunate as he never had a going off period, he just grew up in a balanced way. At every age group, you just looked at him and thought “What a handsome looking horse.”

He came home and settled in to being trained etc. He was a yearling when he was first shown. We had a lot of fun and success showing him over the next few years and then we started to breed with him and didn’t show for a while. He was broken in and then we decided to show him under saddle and in dressage, where he again had much success. As the years rolled by we were more intent on then showing his progeny.
He has had many, many admirers over the years and has managed to sway the most staunchest anti straight Egyptian people into converts! I think it is because he’s not a fussy or frilly specimen. He is substantial, has plenty of bone, plenty of leg under him,
is very symmetrical and looks the type of horse that you could ride all day. All these qualities, he passes on to his progeny over a wide variety of mares and bloodlines, plus his length of neck, fine throatlatch, big eyes, strong and smooth bodies and plenty of movement. He has a huge fan club worldwide, people all over the globe have constantly commented on his good looks, stature
and pedigree.

"I first saw Simeon Sochain at the Australian Nationals in 1996 and thought then that he had a great future when he was named
Reserve National Junior Stallion. I loved his type, great conformation, refinement and movement. Ten years later I judged one
of his daughters, Chaswyck Annakova" as Champion at the 2006 Pan Pacific Show in Queensland, so I knew then as well as having seen other progeny that he had indeed filled the early promise I saw in him. As I have seen many of the great horses in
his pedigree, I feel that he should be an enormous asset to Straight Egyptian breeders in the U.S."

"There are a number of reasons why I love Sochain's pedigree. The fact that he is a double Asfour grandson, a formula that has proven to stamp on those 'little extras' that make so much difference in a horse's finish .... extreme muzzles, wonderfully expressive eyes, sculpted, tippy ears and an all-around aura of quality.
The fact that he is a grandson of the legendary Simeon Safanad AND Safanad's dam 27 Ibn Galal 5, makes him an especially valuable sire; having them both so far forward in his pedigree explains why his progeny show such great consistency in style, structure, and movement. And, although I agree with the statement that 'a good horse has no color', when dealing with this particular family the special chestnut hues seem to be very much linked with excellent structure, limbs, and feet and all around athletic ability.
Finally, Sochain is perhaps the most successful sire of all the Simeon Sadik sons. He is also one of those rare stallions who, judging from his record so far, seems to sire equally good sons and daughters."

"I was so excited to hear that Simeon Sochain was coming to the United States! His dam was one of the most beautiful mares at Simeon Stud, I always felt, with the loeliest eyes and expression. To have a son of the incomparable Simeon Sadik available to American breeders makes him doubly a treasure, and a tremendous opportunity for those looking to add the movement, substance and unmistakeable "Simeon type" to their breeding programmes. It was an absolute thrill to hear Sochain was coming to America and I am one of those who is already looking forward to seeing Sociain foals from some of my best mares! Wishing his owners every success with their new treasure". - Anne Louise Toner
